From Fundraising & Social Events Committee
A very warm welcome to all new and existing families from the Fundraising & Social Committee.
Welcome back to school and welcome to another exciting year of fun and social activities (some of which even raise some money for the school).
Our first meeting of the year is Thursday 16 February at 8pm. If you’ve always wondered what goes on at a meeting, follow the sounds of laughter on the 16th! We come together as parents who want to have some fun and promote the school community. New and inventive ideas welcome, as are the strong silent volunteers! We have lots of activities and fun things to plan for the year.
For those new to the school, you will notice a little table by the front office with brown paper bags. This is for a weekly order of sushi – so there is one lunch you don’t have to worry about for the week.
The F&S Committee is looking for a new Sushi Co-ordinator to help organise the Sushi each Tuesday during term. It doesn’t require much time and effort – just a few simple steps that are done Tuesday morning. The children of Karri class distribute the rolls to the classes each Wednesday morning. If you would like to help out, please contact the Fundraising team – email@example.com
Our first social event of the year will be the Term 1 Disco on Friday 31 March 2017. We will have the ever-popular BBQ as well as a curry buffet to tempt your taste buds! Of course you are more than welcome to bring your own picnic dinner, blankets and chairs and watch the kids dance their hearts out! If you are able to help out on the night, please let the Fundraising team know – firstname.lastname@example.org – or better yet, come along to the F&S Committee meeting to find out more!
***Advanced diary note***
The highlight of the school year is the Annual Spring Fair – this year the Fair is on Saturday 28 October 2017. For those new to the school, this is our big fundraising effort of the year, but more importantly, a great community event where we all pull together to make something magical happen. Every family is encouraged to contribute to the Spring Fair, by volunteering their time, making or donating food, or other goods to sell. If circumstances mean you can’t assist you can always sponsor a stall or activity. Every bit of help helps 🙂
Looking forward to another successful and enjoyable year!
